Cookies and Google Analytics

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see how people use the site. We also set two cookies that only remember which homepage video or story you saw last.

Google uses this data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google may collect information about your activity on our site and other sites over time.

To turn off Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.

Your choices

  • To see, correct or delete your information, email support@ali-ca.org with the subject “Privacy request.” We may ask a question to make sure it is you. Some records, like donation records, we may have to keep by law.
  • To stop our emails, use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter email, or email us.
  • To stop Google Analytics, use the opt-out add-on or block cookies.

Do Not Track, children and security

This site does not change how it works when your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal. You can still turn off Google Analytics as described above.

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information online from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email support@ali-ca.org and we will delete it.

Everything you send through this site travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No website is completely secure, so please keep sensitive details, like medical information, out of contact messages.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
